Yeah that’s actually super common there are kits to fix them. What bothers me most is that the tweeters don’t match andthe original looking one is really oddly setup. The wooofers really don’t look like they match either.

I’d say once a month there are speakers like this (or better) at my local dump in the “Swap Shop.” Every time I’m tempted, but really have no place in my house for them. But the point is, they are FREE AT THE DUMP all the time.

The more you know! I guess this only makes sense on really high end components.
Yeah something was badly “fixed” here. The woofers don’t seem to have the same dust cover, or one is missing.
I just saw you can also repair dust covers. might do that to an old sub I have lying around. Always secure heavy stuff you’re transporting, you might have to brake hard at some point

In perfect original condition, those are selling for under $200 on eBay. I’d say it’s not worth it.

Advent made really nice speakers. If the tweeters matched, then these would be worth picking up for 25-30 bucks and re-foaming the woofers, which isn’t too hard to do. But I’m not even sure the woofers match. Yea, these are CP for sure.

Everything is repairable given enough time and money. Unless your sub is pretty high end you might want to just replace the speaker.

These are actually pretty good speakers if they are in better shape. But yeah I’m tempted to bring stuff home from the dump all the time.

I think it was mostly conceived to make a lot of noise, a Blaupunkt Velocity VW300 with dual coil, good for 2250W. I needed this when I was young and dumb.
I set it lower and lower, until at some point I noticed the 2 way speakers I had in the car were enough to have a great sound.
